Lynnwood, Washington

Located just above Puget Sound and 16 miles outside of Seattle, Lynnwood is the fourth-largest city in Snohomish County, Washington. Lynwood is often called the “hub city” of south Snohomish County due to its ample retail options. In 1889, William Morrice bought 100 acres of land, and years later, this became the site of the historic Alderwood Mall. In addition to indoor areas, the mall boasts two open-air areas to enjoy while you shop, as well as a movie theater.

There are plenty of recreational opportunities in Lynnwood, and the city is invested in expanding those opportunities even further. Lynnwood has a whopping 350 acres of open space, which includes a golf course, various sports fields, and a skate park. The city also has 19 community and neighborhood parks and 14 miles of trails, so there’s always a new way to enjoy the beautiful Washington scenery. The Lynnwood Recreation Center offers cardio and weight rooms, a fitness studio, and racquetball courts, as well as multiple water activities, including a warm water therapy pool. Pay for a single-day pass to try out the facilities or purchase an annual pass for a serious fitness commitment. For something a little more extreme, you’ll find sledding, snowboarding, and skiing just an hour outside Lynnwood. Rent equipment from a local sporting goods store and conquer the slopes of the beautiful Cascade Mountains.

For those looking for more control over their weight loss, the Lap-Band® gastric band may be the answer. The Lap-Band procedure is a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery that involves no cutting or rerouting of the stomach or digestive tract. This makes recovery from the Lap-Band procedure significantly shorter and allows patients to return home on the same day, experiencing the shortest recovery time. The Lap-Band is completely removable and adjustable to individual needs, including pregnancy. It’s a safe, long-lasting option with which many patients have already found success.
