I have always enjoyed backpacking and scuba diving. The heavier I got, the harder it got for me to be active, or do anything I wanted. I tried everything and was dedicated to losing weight - but nothing worked. I was afraid of winding up with obesity-related health problems. I’m married and we really wanted to start a family. My weight made me feel that I was losing control of my life, no matter what I did. I chose the LAP-BAND^® because the surgery is much shorter and less risky, and the recovery is quicker.
