I am a LAP-BAND^® patient, but I am also a LAP-BAND^® Surgeon. I had a LAP-BAND^® placed in 2004, while I was in my surgery residency. It was the second best decision I've ever made after deciding to go to medical school, of course. That was 100 pounds ago. I can't tell you in this brief forum how having a Band has changed my life. It is amazing how easy it is to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I believe in the LAP-BAND^® System so much that I wanted to make this the focus of my practice. To anyone out there considering the LAP-BAND^®, I suggest that you research as much as you can, find a surgeon you trust, and seize the day. Hopefully you'll find yourself in a situation similar to mine - loving your new life and enjoying what it's like to not have to shop in the "Plus Size" section of the store.
